Project Details

CLIENT
Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT), District 6

LOCATION
Franklin County, OH

Woolpert prepared construction plans for the rehabilitation of 9.1 miles of Interstate 71 in Franklin County, Ohio. Beginning just south of State Route 665 and ending at Greenlawn Avenue, this project involved pavement rehabilitation by mill and overlay and included both partial-depth and full-depth joint repairs. The project encompassed all of the mainline pavement as well as interchange ramps at SR 665, Stringtown Road, I-270, SR 104 and Greenlawn Avenue.

Woolpert used SmartSurveyor ™, a proprietary GPS pen-based mapping inventory system, to complete a field inventory of the entire project area. Throughout the inventory, we noted geometric deficiencies such as lane widths, guardrail offsets, degree of curve and horizontal distance to obstacles.
