Reedy/McKee Creeks Interceptor and Pump Station

In the 1990s, the Reedy Creek and McKee Creek Basin was one of the last relatively undeveloped areas in greater Charlotte. But in the past decade, the watershed has experienced rapid growth resulting from residential construction and I-485 Charlotte Outerbelt construction. Yet, it lacks the public infrastructure necessary to support this growth.

Woolpert is providing engineering for the planning, design, permitting and construction administration of over 22 miles of gravity sewer, a 20 MGD pump station and a 24-inch force main for the 24,800-acre area. The services include preliminary engineering to determine the optimum approach to serve the basin now and in the future; evaluating various sewer routings to minimize disruptions to woodlands, wetlands and properties; subsurface locations of existing utilities; geotechnical investigations; permitting; development of easement exhibits for approximately 190 parcels in two counties; and construction administration—as well as many other services.

Please note that professional services within the State of North Carolina are performed by Woolpert North Carolina, PLLC, an affiliate of Woolpert, Inc.
