St. Louis Wastewater Infrastructure Services
The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District is responsible for the interception, collection and treatment of wastewater and stormwater management for more than 1.4 million residents of St. Louis County in Missouri. Woolpert has been providing wastewater infrastructure services to the MSD for more than eight years to assist the district in addressing multiple issues.
These issues include:
- Inflow and infiltration (I/I) investigations in separate sewer systems throughout St. Louis County
- Investigations and recommendations to eliminate separate sewer overflows (SSO) and identify the location of suspected illicit connections
- Flow meter and defect data analyses
- Smoke testing and dye trace testing
- Manhole inspections
- Data collection using pentop computers and Gilware data collection software
- Integration of data into a GIS
- Hydraulic modeling using HYDRA software
- Construction cost estimating
- Preparation of recommendations for sewer rehabilitation
