Woolpert Earns Charlotte SmartCEO’s Corporate Culture Award

February 13, 2017

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Feb. 13, 2017) — Woolpert was honored to receive Charlotte SmartCEO’s 2017 Corporate Culture Award, which was announced at a celebration last week. Woolpert Senior Vice President Flint Holbrook (right) accepted the award on behalf of Woolpert North Carolina PLLC, the national architecture, engineering and geospatial firm’s Charlotte office.

SmartCEO’s Corporate Culture Awards program honors companies that foster creative, collaborative workplace cultures to enhance performance and sustain a competitive advantage. Each year, the magazine honors the top 50 companies that have successfully championed positive, productive and performance-driven corporate cultures, and have worked with their employees to develop impactful practices, in its seven target areas. These include Baltimore; Long Island; New Jersey; New York; Philadelphia; Washington, D.C.; and Charlotte.

Holbrook said he was honored by this Charlotte award, which is the firm’s first SmartCEO achievement. He said it builds on the entire firm’s inaugural designation as a national Great Place to Work (GPTW) in 2016.

Like SmartCEO’s Corporate Culture Awards, the GPTW program recognizes firms based on employees’ confidence in company leadership, pride in what they do and enjoyment in the company of their co-workers.

Holbrook credited trust between employees and managers for recently helping Woolpert achieve its most consistently profitable years in the firm’s 106-year history, including a 47 percent growth in sales in the last two years.

“Our employees are starting to believe that our company goal ‘to become an employer of choice and the premier architecture, engineering and geospatial company in the country,’ is not a slogan, but a committed (vision),” Holbrook told Charlotte SmartCEO.
