Cleveland WPC’s Successful AMS Implementation

Challenge
The city of Cleveland’s Water Pollution Control (WPC) Division manages the sanitary sewer and stormwater systems within the boundaries of the city. In an effort to streamline maintenance efforts across the WPC, Cleveland selected Woolpert to implement a work order management system based on Azteca’s Cityworks Asset Management System (AMS) software.

Solution
The Woolpert project team expertly guided WPC along its AMS implementation journey, stepping in to complete the following tasks:

• Defining system and user requirements
• Configuring the system software
• Converting the data from WPC’s legacy Mincom Ellipse system
• Testing the system against real-world situations
• Training approximately 40 WPC staff
• Providing go-live assistance

Our detailed, best-practice-based approach empowered WPC to implement the AMS in a well-structured, timely and cost-effective manner. The project was completed without any change orders, and it incurred only one week of slippage from its original 10-month schedule.

Outcome
WPC’s successful AMS implementation has spurred multiple city divisions to follow its lead. Several are replacing their legacy maintenance management systems with Cityworks, with implementations led by Woolpert staff.
