Off to a Flying Start in Egg Harbor Township

It’s been just over a month since Woolpert moved into its office in Egg Harbor Township, N.J., and I’m excited to report that we’re already enjoying the benefits of being together as a team in our newly established unmanned aircraft systems hub.

Located in what is considered to be the nation’s aviation think tank, the National Aviation Research and Technology Park, we are honored to work alongside neighbors like NASA, the FAA, the National Institute of Aerospace and General Dynamics. Our building is adjacent to the bustling metropolis of Atlantic City, the Atlantic City International Airport and the FAA William J. Hughes Technical Center, and it is central to general aviation airports, where UAS and other aircraft and technologies can be tested. As a result, our location not only supports extensive research and development opportunities but enables us to easily provide engineering and technical support to our nearby government and industry clients.

Our roughly 1,500-square-foot space includes an innovative conference room, which is also known as The Thunderbolt Room. The room was designed to provide exceptional audio-visual support to elevate UAS presentations and client meetings, as well as product reviews. The office also sports a small kitchen and a much-appreciated storage area for equipment and UAS platforms.

In addition to me and the four other pilots who call this office home, our UAS hub supports aviation and geospatial professionals throughout Woolpert. We have a firmwide staff of more than 1,200 in three countries who seem to share a growing appetite for UAS and advanced air mobility applications for use across our architecture, engineering, geospatial and strategic consulting markets.

Thanks to the outstanding capabilities of this new office, we will be able to advance these technologies to support the evolving needs of these markets, our staff and our clients around the world.
