Situated in the center of Indiana’s second-largest city, Skyline Garage is a 1,100 space parking facility wrapped with first-floor commercial spaces and upper-level offices, featuring the 100,000-square-foot world headquarters of Ash Brokerage. The garage’s six stories (five above ground and one below ground) tower over the downtown area and constitute the largest project of its kind in the city within the last thirty years. The iconic structure is considered to be an essential part of the growth of downtown—as well as a catalyst for continued revitalization.

Skyline Garage was designed to meet the needs of the downtown area by adding nearly 1,000 parking spaces to the urban core. With proximity to the Harrison Street Corridor that connects the Fort Wayne Riverfront, Grand Wayne Convention Center and Harrison Square (America’s number-one-rated MLB park for five years), the site is constantly busy. In an effort to increase the number of amenities for people who use the garage and attached spaces, the design features a one-acre rooftop garden at the top level of the garage.

By working with several owners, contractors and designers, the project was completed quickly and efficiently through the use of pre-cast concrete construction. Although a project of this type would traditionally call for a multi-year timeline, construction time was reduced through innovative use of materials and coordination between firms.

Today, the facility serves as an anchor for a growing downtown scene and one that Fort Wayne can be proud of for years to come.
