Woolpert worked closely with design-build partner Balfour Beatty to provide mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering design services for two new barracks facilities at Camp LeJeune. The 125-room, 78,660 square-foot, multi-story Bachelor Enlisted Quarters (BEQ) and a 100-room, 65,690 square-foot, multi-story BEQ with canopy and weather shelter achieved LEED® Gold certification and feature all applicable anti-terrorism/force protection measures.

Woolpert provided a range of MEP services, including designing the HVAC system (with incorporated energy recovery exhaust system), creating the electrical system plans and developing a plumbing system that makes use of solar water heating and rainwater harvesting.
