Surveying for Alameda Naval Air Station Cleanup

Encompassing over 2,500 acres, the Alameda Naval Air Station was the largest naval air station in the world when it was commissioned in 1940. The station was also home to three seaplane ramps and a lighted Seadrome. Woolpert supported the multibeam survey throughout the lagoon before, during, and after the initial superfund cleanup effort. Additional work included dredge positioning support to optimize the dredging effort and confirm materials were removed accurately. Recently, Woolpert returned to the lagoon to survey the Ocean Cleanup dock that was used as the launching point for the System 001 plastic collector.
