The Challenge
Hall County, located in north Georgia, is comprised of 83,000 parcels and grows each year. The region's population and industry expansion, enhanced by Lake Lanier recreation, mirrors statewide growth trends. To ensure Hall County could fully accommodate economic development, the county sought to replace its existing appraisal platform with an efficient, accurate, and reliable solution.
The Solution
In its initial discussions, Hall County heard excellent feedback from other Georgia counties that recently deployed MobileAssessor. Through partnership with Woolpert, Hall County adopted MobileAssessor to upgrade its existing pencil-and-paper methodology into a flexible, accessible solution. The product enabled Hall County users to immediately update parcel information, upload photos, and save/synchronize sketch data.
To enhance the capacity and efficiency of its field staff, Hall County used the full capabilities of MobileAssesor. Appraisal staff can plan dynamic routes, upload photos and information in real time, and receive timely quality control reviews from the field. As a result, Hall County staff is more efficient and can accomplish more in less time. According to Steve Watson, MobileAssessor provides confidence and “A lot of credibility that shows Hall County government is leveraging technology, that we’re not just sitting in the backseat, we’re driving the car and we got a new model.”
Working with Woolpert
In 2017, Hall County started working with Woolpert and successfully integrated MobileAssessor®. This seamless transition was made possible by the team’s focus on product and client support. According to Hall County Chief Appraiser Steve Watson, “A product is only as good as the support team and the (Woolpert) support team is exceptional, which makes for an exceptional product.”
