Nicklaus Children’s Clinical Laboratory

Bermello Ajamil (BA), a Woolpert Company, provided architectural design services to consolidate existing main laboratory services into a newly renovated space within the existing central building for the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital Health System. The project transformed approximately 14,000 square feet into a modern, centralized laboratory designed to enhance operational efficiency and support a comprehensive range of diagnostic services.

The renovated laboratory accommodates chemistry, microbiology, molecular pathology, histology, clinical virology, blood bank, and parasitology functions. The facility also includes dissecting rooms, pathology and administrative offices, physician office space, quality assurance areas, dedicated pathology reading rooms, a conference room, and staff lounge. The new space creates an integrated environment that supports clinical operations, collaboration, and patient care.
