Accomplished Engineer, Manager, Leader Rich Keagy Joins Woolpert’s Facilities Market

The firm’s newest practice leader has extensive experience in land development, buildings and large infrastructure projects.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Oct. 10, 2019) — Rich Keagy, PE, LEED AP, has been hired by Woolpert as a practice leader and senior associate serving the firm’s Facilities market. Keagy has more than 27 years of professional engineering and project management experience.

Keagy has an extensive infrastructure background that includes civil and site engineering; water main, pump station, sewer outfall and hydraulic design; building design and construction management; levee evaluation; and roadway design. He has coordinated, managed and executed projects throughout North America and around the world, and has held leadership positions at several prominent engineering firms.

At Woolpert, Keagy said he is looking forward to combining his experience and connections with the firm’s robust Facilities team. He said Woolpert is known for the attention it pays to its clients.

“Every client wants to feel like they are the most important client, and that is what I’ve heard and seen from Woolpert,” Keagy said. “That is also the message I received from leadership. Woolpert is a diverse and aggressively growing company, with both promise and stability. It has a great future ahead.”

Keagy will report to Facilities Market Director and Senior Vice President Chris Perry, who has been with Woolpert for nearly 30 years.

“Rich’s well-forged knowledge base seamlessly aligns with that of Woolpert, and our market grew stronger the day we hired him,” Perry said. “We’re very excited to work with Rich.”

Keagy, a University of Akron graduate who grew up in northeastern Ohio, added that he feels more like he is moving to a new family rather than a new job since Woolpert is headquartered in Dayton.

“I’m very excited to work with people who have similar roots, and my family still lives in Ohio,” Keagy said. “I also have been in the Carolinas for 25 years. I am excited to work out of the firm’s Charlotte office and remain connected with great clients and friends in the Southeast. Woolpert has a great reputation in this market and across the country, and I am happy to be a member of this family.”
