Woolpert Hires Doug Brook, Geospatial Developer and Team Leader

DAYTON, Ohio (Sept. 25, 2017) — Woolpert has hired a new Geospatial Developer and Team Leader to work in its Dayton headquarters. Doug Brook, a Project Management Professional who has held multiple leadership and technology positions, will manage developers and provide business development across Woolpert markets.

Woolpert Geospatial and Asset Management Discipline Lead Jen Kouns said she believes Brook’s diverse and extensive application development background will foster continued growth for the national architecture, engineering and geospatial (AEG) firm.

“Doug is a visionary who brings with him the opportunity to explore new possibilities in growing markets,” said Kouns, who is Brook’s supervisor. “This in turn will expand Woolpert within the industry, providing more diversity in projects, and allow staff to expand their expertise and knowledge in different areas throughout the industry.”

Brook said he is excited for the development team to leverage expansive solutions and services to internal and external customers. He added that he was drawn to the job and the culture at Woolpert.

“My team is working on leading-edge GIS and application development technologies and, when I saw their passion, I wanted to get involved,” Brook said. “During my interviews, I also greatly appreciated the value placed on employees and the clear vision and values laid out by the CEO (Scott Cattran). To be honest, I came in expecting the general interview experience and left with a strong desire to join the company.”

Brook began at Woolpert this month and is part of the Woolpert team attending the 2017 Ohio GIS Conference this week.
