Woolpert Hires Transportation Veteran to Support Strategic Consulting Group
DENVER (Oct. 18, 2018) — Professional Engineer Stuart Cox has been hired by Woolpert to support the firm’s Strategic Consulting Group. Cox brings more than 40 years of engineering, consulting and policy expertise on public lands issues in Colorado and the western United States.
Prior to Woolpert, Cox served as an assistant to the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), supporting the Federal Lands Transportation Program in the planning, development and implementation of BLM’s roads program. He also served for 17 years as the BLM state engineer for Colorado, and was responsible for all planning, design, construction and asset management for 8.3 million acres of roads, trails, dams, bridges, utility systems, recreation and administrative sites. Cox also was the national lead for the BLM transportation team for 15 years and was responsible for developing the organization’s policy and strategy for 82,000 miles of paved and primitive roads and extensive trail network.
Cox said he is excited that he will be able to continue to assist the BLM through his work at Woolpert, helping develop an innovative approach to efficiently evaluate road conditions and deferred maintenance systems to aid facility and asset management.
