Remotely Operated Systems

Woolpert has a long history in remotely operated systems. We were one of earliest adopters of remote sensing; more recently, we became the first surveying and mapping company to receive Section 333 exemption in unmanned aerial systems in the United States.

Today, our remotely operated systems make it easier to acquire detailed spatial data in dangerous or inaccessible locations by merging traditional and unconventional collection techniques. By capitalizing on internal capabilities, strategic partnerships, and the latest technologies — be that RGB, lidar, thermal, or multispectral — we optimize the entire workflow, from sensor selection, calibration, and collection to processing and dissemination. This includes leveraging remote sensing platforms, automated geospatial data collection, and drone-based mapping solutions for superior efficiency.

Collect data anytime, anywhere.

Surveys conducted with remotely operated systems in hard-to-reach areas provide a rapid, cost-effective alternative to traditional ground-based methods. Real-time data integrates seamlessly with survey tools, enabling continuous monitoring, analysis, and decision-making, which is invaluable for maintenance inspections and damage assessments. Woolpert employs remotely operated systems on land, in the air, and on water to meet nearly any survey need, from small private-sector boundary surveys to large, complex national programs — often enhanced by robotic survey technologies.

Not only do our remotely operated systems specialists carry out high-quality, detailed surveys, but they also support our clients with the right oversight, coordination, and procurement. Our pilots, being certified by the governing agency in their respective countries, follow all local laws and regulations. Additionally, Woolpert is ISO, NDAA, and DIU Blue List compliant.
