DAYTON, Ohio (Jan. 15, 2018) — Woolpert application developers were productive in 2017, earning multiple Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Amazon Web Services (AWS) certifications to broaden their individual skillsets and deepen the capacity to which the firm can assist clients.

Nine Woolpert application developers earned certifications, while two in this group earned multiple credentials. Mark Millman, a telecommuter working near Las Vegas, and Chris Morabito, who works in Woolpert’s Dayton headquarters, each earned Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer and Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect certifications.

A Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer makes data-driven decisions through the collection, transformation and visualization of data, and can design, build, maintain and troubleshoot data processing systems. The Professional Cloud Architect understands cloud architecture and the Google Cloud Platform, and can design, develop and manage cloud solution infrastructure to support business objectives.

Additional Woolpert Google Cloud Professional Data Engineers include Juliana Castillo, a telecommuter in northern Virginia; Baohong Ji, a telecommuter in Maryland; and Zhenyang Hua, who works in the Dayton office.

Woolpert also had several application developers who became AWS Certified Developer-Associates last year. As defined by Amazon, this accreditation validates technical expertise in developing and maintaining applications on the AWS platform. Woolpert’s AWS Certified Developer-Associates include Bryan de Jesus and David Streed, telecommuters who work in Florida, and James Whitcomb, a telecommuter in the Denver area.

The final accreditation was earned by Dominik Medved, an application developer in Woolpert’s Denver office. Medved became an AWS Solutions Architect-Associate, which validates his skills and experience in designing distributed applications and systems on the AWS platform.

“The initiative and expertise demonstrated by these developers allows Woolpert to more comprehensively support our clients and our relationships with Google and Amazon,” said Jon Downey, Woolpert vice president and director of the firm’s Partner Geospatial Sales Team. “It is because of these individuals and many more throughout the firm that we enter 2018 prepared to expand and create like never before.”
