Woolpert provided complete overhaul and renovation services for the gas turbine engine test cell facilities used for GE Aviation’s production testing of GE 90 jet engines. We performed architecture, engineering and control, and monitoring improvements services throughout the project.
- The concrete, cast-in-place test cell facility structures are approximately 10,000 square feet in area; they demanded sophisticated architecture and engineering expertise with exacting attention to detail. Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modeling, high-resolution laser scanning, interference-detection modeling, acoustics analysis and 3D modeling represent the tools Woolpert used to produce unique solutions for the project.
