The team provided expert investigation, analysis, recommendations, plan preparation and cost estimates for the 1st Special Operation Wing (SOW) hangar/aircraft parking area development plan (ADP). Team members documented the current mission requirements and future aircraft additions projected out to year 2030. The ADP provided yearly requirements for aircraft parking (covered spaces and airfield pavement) based on assigned and transient aircraft, starting in 2018 and ending in 2030.

A high-level facility adequacy and condition assessment was conducted for each maintenance hangar and related facility to determine viability and adequacy to support short-, mid- and long-range aircraft turnover and changes.

The team identified shortages in the hangar and aircraft parking areas, developed alternative courses of action to satisfy the anticipated shortages, and identified necessary future facility upgrades and recapitalization projects. The plan’s recommendations will be used by the installation and Air Force Special Operations Command to justify funding for future facility acquisitions within the military construction program.
