Restoring Hangar One at Wright-Patterson AFB

Eighty years ago, the famed industrial architect Albert Kahn designed the Airplane Repair Dock at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio. The structure is commonly called “Hangar One,” and after nine decades of enduring Ohio weather, it was time to restore the infrastructure while maintaining its long history.

Woolpert Project Manager Rebecca Knolle, P.E., PMP, LEED AP, M.SAME helped spearhead the restoration effort and explained the renovation process in her article published in The Military Engineer’s November-December issue.
