Woolpert Energy Leaders Joe Surra and Doug Garvey Promoted for Performance, Leadership

DAYTON, Ohio (June 26, 2020) — Woolpert has promoted two of its energy market leaders for consistently demonstrating high performance, ownership mentality and proven leadership, while assuming additional responsibilities.

Program Director Joe Surra, who has worked at Woolpert for more than five years, was promoted to Senior Associate. Surra has experience leveraging engineering and geospatial services to develop solutions for multiple applications, including pipeline and well site developments, electric transmission and distribution projects, industrial scale renewables and mining operations. The Penn State graduate is working from the firm’s growing Pittsburgh office.

Project Manager Doug Garvey, PE was promoted to Associate. Garvey has overseen the collection of high-accuracy GPS data points for a large gas utility in Ohio and Virginia, collecting millions of feet of data. The Ohio State graduate has worked at Woolpert for three years out of the firm’s Toledo, Ohio, office.

Woolpert Senior Vice President and Energy Market Director Mike Battles said Surra and Garvey have been industry leaders and high performers since joining Woolpert.
