Woolpert Hires Project Manager Caitlin Ruza to Support Stormwater Projects in Ohio

Ruza has over 14 years of design engineering and sustainability planning experience.

DAYTON, Ohio (Jan. 22, 2025) — Woolpert has hired Project Manager Caitlin Ruza to support stormwater projects and clients throughout Ohio. Ruza, a licensed professional engineer, brings over 14 years of planning, design, and construction experience related to stormwater infrastructure and sustainability.

Caitlin Ruza

Prior to joining Woolpert, Ruza most recently served as a project manager with Coldwater Consulting, where her stormwater work focused on river restoration, lakefront redevelopment, and sustainability initiatives. Prior to that, Ruza worked as a project manager at AECOM in the Cleveland and Columbus offices where she led stormwater, hydraulic modeling, and green infrastructure design and construction projects.  She also brings regulatory experience from her work as an environmental engineer for the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency.

“I’ve seen firsthand the transformative impact that smart design can have on creating sustainable solutions for stormwater management. In Ohio, the state’s diverse landscapes, from urban areas to agricultural regions, require specialized approaches to manage runoff, prevent flooding, and improve water quality,” Ruza said. “In my new role with Woolpert, I’m excited to work alongside a talented team of engineers who are at the forefront of developing innovative solutions to these challenges, while advancing climate resilience, optimizing stormwater management systems, and enhancing the health of Ohio’s waterways.”

As project manager, Ruza also will help to expand Woolpert’s stormwater, water, and wastewater services throughout Ohio and the Midwest.

“We are excited to have Caitlin join our team,” Woolpert Vice President J.P. Johns said. “Her unique background and experience in the Midwest are well suited for our water-related growth initiatives in Ohio.”

Ruza holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Ohio University and is an active member of the Ohio Water Environment Association.
