Woolpert Welcomes Retail Design Expert Mark Mockus as Program Director in Chicago
CHICAGO (March 27, 2020) — Mark Mockus has been hired by Woolpert as a program director, working out of the firm’s Chicago office. Mockus is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and the Urban Land Institute and has more than 30 years of architecture and management experience. He specializes in designing retail centers, from mixed-use commercial developments and pop-up stores to automobile dealership showrooms and food halls.
Mockus said he first became acquainted with Woolpert while helping design Bank of America locations across the country. He said he was surprised to learn about the diversity of services offered by the 109-year-old firm.
“As an architecture, engineering and geospatial firm, Woolpert provides a great benefit to its clients by having every relevant discipline in-house. It’s impressive that Woolpert does so many projects in so many different practice areas, and I’m excited to be a part of it,” Mockus said. “My goals are to continue to strengthen the recognition of the Woolpert brand by pursuing large projects, getting to know new clients and reconnecting with clients I’ve worked with in the past.”
Senior Vice President and Market Director Chris Perry said he welcomes the extensive experience Mockus brings, especially in leading teams and focusing on business development.
“At Woolpert, we value veteran, proven leadership that contributes to the rapid, targeted growth of the company,” Perry said. “Over the past three decades, Mark has established himself as a leader in the retail industry.
