Woolpert provided comprehensive architecture and engineering consulting services to prepare an area development plan (ADP) supporting the 353rd Special Operations Group (SOG). The configuration of the 353rd SOG’s facilities was not optimal, with many facilities designed to accommodate alternative missions. The ADP evaluated options for creating a more cohesive campus with deliberate facilities, thus maximizing the efficiency, effectiveness and sustainability of SOG operations.

The ADP study area included the following existing and proposed 353rd SOG-supporting infrastructure:

  • Facilities and buildings
  • Airfield pavement
  • Electrical, communication, fuel, water, wastewater and stormwater systems
  • Transportation networks

Woolpert examined the condition and functionality of the infrastructure, developed long- and short-term courses of action, and generated an ADP with detailed alternatives and a corresponding capital improvement plan. These plans included ample maps and graphics to clearly and accurately depict the geography, land use and conditions of the infrastructure.
