Bathymetry of Lake Michigan Revetment
In August 2018, eTrac, a Woolpert Company, was contracted to provide high-resolution multibeam bathymetry to measure lake bed elevations adjacent to a large revetment on the shores of Lake Michigan. eTrac responded by mobilizing personnel and equipment to the project site while monitoring National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration weather predictions. When a window opened for safe data collection, eTrac launched the project and collected multibeam bathymetry in a single-day effort. The following day, the team completed further work was completed upland, measuring topographic transects and photo-identifiable ground targets for the client's aerial mapping of the site. An additional effort was completed weeks later to assist in navigation and sediment sampling.
