FIDELITY INVESTMENTS OFFICE BUILDINGS

Fidelity owns approximately 250 acres of wooded hillside in Covington, Ky., a vibrant and fast-growing metropolitan business and residential community along the Ohio River in northern Kentucky. To better accommodate future growth of the company and an expected increase in the number of its employees, Woolpert was selected to provide a variety of engineering, planning and mapping services for the new addition to Fidelity Investment’s office building.

The project included a 376,000-square-foot LEED-certified addition to the current structure as well as a five-level parking garage with approximately 1,500 parking spaces. This project was designed in multiple phases, calling for 15 bid packages. The schedule was extended to allow for numerous changes during both the design and construction processes to meet the expectations of Fidelity. In accordance with the desires of Fidelity’s Chairman, as many trees as possible were saved and the parking garage was screened from view. Other sustainable design strategies were to minimize the development footprint and therefore environmental impact on the site and proactively manage storm water. As a result of this project, Fidelity now possesses the space needed to support its flourishing business well into the future.
