INDUSTRIAL-SCALE SOLAR SITING ANALYSIS

To identify potentially viable locations for a new five- to 10-megawatt, industrial- scale solar farm, Woolpert collected parcel data for multiple landowners within the target areas. Woolpert analyzed potential sites according to the following criteria:

• Location within two miles of existing transmission line corridors and substations
• Minimum of 100 contiguous acres with limited wetlands and slope
• Adjacent/nearby flat, dry land totaling at least 400 acres in aggregate
• Existing parcel zoning and potential for industrial-scale solar development

The team prepared AutoCAD base files including aerial imagery, ArcGIS data of land and structural features and shaded-slope contour maps. After Woolpert identified all interested landowners and worked with the client on lease negotiations, the team prepared a constraints map with pinpointed encumbrances and the project build area.
