Downtown Cincinnati became home to Ohio’s 4th commercial casino, Horseshoe Casino Cincinnati, on March 4, 2013. The $400 million full-service casino was developed by Rock Ohio Caesars LLC (ROC) and is expected to generate six million visits annually to the City.

As the nation’s first truly urban casino built from the ground up, Horseshoe Cincinnati was designed specifically to engage pedestrians and support existing cultural, nightlife and sports attractions downtown. The property, located on a 23-acre area that was once a surface parking lot, is part of an ongoing effort to energize downtown Cincinnati.

Woolpert supported Rock Gaming with both design and construction plans during the two year construction project, which began in February 2011. Woolpert supplied site engineering and landscape design; planning for public roadways and spaces around the casino; architectural and engineering design of the parking garage; civil design of soil retention, storm drainage, roadways and site utilities; and event power, site lighting and streetscape lighting.
