MASON SPORTS PARK

Woolpert worked with the City of Mason Parks and Recreation Department to design this new, award-winning sports complex. The Mason Sports Park is a premiere recreational and tournament baseball complex centered on lighted baseball fields and a two-story restroom/concession/storage/officials’ building. Two soccer/football fields, secondary restroom building, disc golf course and wooded trails round out the complex’s amenities. The Mason Sports Park received the Ohio Parks and Recreation Association’s Superior Facility Award for 2008 and was listed in the 2013’s InSite on Sports Events as one of the nation’s top 10 baseball facilities.

The completed project is the culmination of a lengthy planning process that began with the Mason Comprehensive Plan and continued through the Mason Park Master Plan and New Park Design (both Woolpert projects). Woolpert designed the park concurrently with Memorial Park, a signature park in the center of Mason, to save the client time and money through combined meetings and aligned common details. Careful consideration of materials, innovative design and flexibility were showcased throughout the planning, design and construction process.
