CLIENT
Orange County Utilities

LOCATION
Orange County, FL

Encompassing 40 subdivisions, this potable water and wastewater improvement project included replacing approximately 10 miles of water main. Additional components included rehabbing and/or replacing approximately 18.5 miles of 8-inch and 12-inch gravity sanitary sewer main and over 400 brick manholes.

Orange County selected Woolpert to provide the following professional services:

  • Preliminary engineering
  • Topographic and boundary surveying
  • Subsurface utility engineering
  • Geotechnical investigation
  • Design
  • Preparation of construction documents
  • Permitting
  • Bidding assistance
  • Construction administration

Woolpert reviewed CCTV video and smoke testing reports, evaluated the gravity sewer networks and prepared a comprehensive reporting of existing conditions. Woolpert then conducted topographic surveys and underground utility verifications throughout the subdivisions and performed a boundary survey at the proposed pump station location.

The project team prepared preliminary design memorandums with rehabilitation and replacement recommendations as well as cost comparisons for both the potable water and wastewater systems.

Finally, Woolpert prepared all the necessary construction drawings and technical specifications for the improvements, obtained Florida Department of Environmental Protection permits for water and wastewater systems, and served as the bidding and construction administrator.
