Woolpert Welcomes Energy Project Manager James Overton to Richmond Office
RICHMOND, Va. (Sept. 10, 2019) — Woolpert has hired James Overton as a project manager in the firm’s Energy market. Overton brings nearly a decade of experience in managing geospatial utility programs and design engineering projects to Woolpert, where he will support projects across the country.
Overton said he was drawn to Woolpert by its strong project management model, its advanced technologies, the diversity of its expertise and geospatial data, and its culture.

Overton is a Virginia Tech graduate who will work out of the firm’s Richmond office. Woolpert Energy Market Director Mike Battles said Overton will serve as a key regional leader for the market.
“This geography combined with James’ industry-leading knowledge in geospatial systems that integrate data and GIS for energy utilities made him a great fit for our team,” Battles said. “He will be a cornerstone for our services in Richmond.”
Overton said he believes the Energy market and the Richmond area will benefit from the cross-market capabilities that the global architecture, engineering and geospatial firm can provide.
