Woolpert Environmental Engineer Named 40 Under 40 Winner

  • DAYTON, Ohio (March 21, 2017) — Environmental Engineer Nadja Turek, Woolpert’s director of sustainability services and research and development facilitator, was named one of the Dayton Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 business professionals for 2017, it was announced today.Turek, who has been with Woolpert for nine years, is a Dayton native who graduated from Chaminade-Julienne High School. She attended the University of Colorado through an ROTC scholarship and was commissioned by the U.S. Air Force, where she served as a Civil Engineer officer for 10 years.

    Turek said she was surprised and humbled by the honor, especially since it came from her hometown.

“I am fortunate that I get to work on sustainability projects all over the world, but volunteering towards sustainability here in the Dayton region matters greatly to me because Dayton is my community and my home,” Turek said. “Sustainability and resiliency efforts in Dayton directly improve every aspect of our quality of life here.”

Earlier this month, Turek also was named to the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) Academy of Fellows Class of 2017. The designation recognizes dedicated and outstanding service to the Society and military engineering profession.

Turek, a married mother of two, lives in Oakwood.

The Dayton Business Journal will honor Turek and all 40 Under 40 winners at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, May 18, at Sinclair Community College.
