Geospatial Project Manager Eli Donaldson Joins Woolpert, Supports Roads and Bridges Market

ORLANDO, Fla. (March 9, 2020) — Woolpert has hired Eli Donaldson, a licensed Professional Surveyor and Mapper, as a geospatial project manager to work in the firm’s Orlando office. Donaldson brings 22 years of experience in multifaceted municipal, federal and private sector survey projects to Woolpert, and will help the firm extend its architecture, engineering and geospatial (AEG) services in Florida.

Donaldson most recently worked as a survey manager in the private development market. A geomatics graduate from the University of Florida, he has worked his way up from a rodman to licensed surveyor, gaining experience and viewing project workflows from every angle.

At Woolpert, Donaldson will oversee multiphase survey, photogrammetry and lidar projects in support of engineering efforts within the transportation industry. He said there is a broad horizon for the application of traditional survey work with geospatial technologies—like unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), photogrammetry, bathymetry, lidar data and imagery—and the opportunity to establish applications that have yet to be identified.

“Woolpert is at the forefront of these new technologies, so we are able to not only perform groundbreaking work but we’re able to continually learn and grow,” Donaldson said. “Our geospatial services naturally support architecture and engineering services through data-rich lidar and point cloud environments, which allow clients to be able to spatially visualize and analyze projects. If you want to excel in AEG, this is the place to be.”

Woolpert Roads and Bridges Geospatial Practice Leader Tom Ruschkewicz lauded Donaldson’s excellent collaboration with clients and colleagues and his track record for producing high-quality survey deliverables on time and under budget.

“Eli is extremely versatile and has the experience to successfully manage projects for our clients. He brings extensive regional knowledge and a solid industry reputation to the firm,” Ruschkewicz said. “He’s an important addition to our roads and bridges geospatial practice and our extended team around the country, and we’re very excited to have him on board to help us grow in Florida.”
