Woolpert Welcomes National Security Market Director Joseph Palermo

DAYTON, Ohio (Feb. 10, 2025) — Woolpert has hired National Security Market Director Joseph Palermo to advance geospatial projects for federal agency, national defense, intelligence, and national security clients.

A retired U.S. Navy Aviator and Information Warfare Officer, Palermo brings over 25 years of business development, strategic planning, program management, and systems engineering experience within the geospatial, aerospace, defense, and intelligence industries. He holds a bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering from Penn State and an MBA in global business strategy from George Mason University.

Before joining Woolpert, Palermo most recently worked as director of business development for defense manufacturing firm L3Harris Technologies, where he led business development efforts for defense, intelligence, security, and space pursuits within the company’s mission networks sector.

As director of Woolpert’s National Security Market, Palermo will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities where the firm’s geospatial capabilities can help advance the work of federal agencies and national defense, intelligence, and national security clients. Additionally, Palermo will oversee strategic planning, client engagement, market analysis, and proposal management for Woolpert’s portfolio of national security-focused aviation and GIS services.
