ARAPAHOE COUNTY DEVELOPMENT OPERATIONAL ASSESSMENT

The Arapahoe County Public Works & Development (PWD) Department recognized the need to assess whether they were operating efficiently and effectively and whether cost-reduction opportunities existed. Woolpert held a series of kickoff meetings and conducted a desk audit and interview process to gather information about operations, maintenance and finances. We also held workshops with department leadership and staff and introduced a series of best practices.

Finally, a high-level action plan with short, intermediate, and long-term recommendations for people, practices, and technology improvements were developed and then presented to the department staff. The evaluations resulted in the calculation of a productivity-improvement gap and the PWD is considering recommendations.
