Brays Bayou Channel Improvements
CivilTech, a Woolpert Company, was contracted by the Harris County Flood Control District to provide design, bidding and construction-phase engineering services in support of the Brays Bayou Federal Flood Damage Reduction Project (Project Brays).
The team provided HCFCD with 50% and 60% submittals incorporating plan and profile sheets with proposed designs for bank tops and bottom widths, flowlines, hydraulic structures, piping and appropriate design labeling. CivilTech included existing right-of-ways, topography baseline location controls, existing and proposed drainage structures, public and private utilities, tree preservation and ROW encroachments.
CivilTech attended and helped HCFCD conduct the pre-bid conference, prepared all necessary addenda, reviewed the tabulated bid results for discrepancies and provided a recommendation for award of the construction contract.
The team provided project management and administration as well as coordination with utility companies to obtain the required permits and permission to cross pipeline ROWs.
