Lifestyle centers entail a new development concept that typically includes a central amenity anchored with national retail components intermingled with local and regional attraction shops and a mixed residential component. These centers are designed to be pedestrian-friendly, providing patrons with an environment composed of significant landscaping and gathering places to invite visitors to walk, shop, eat and interact.
- Woolpert was selected to perform a wide variety of services for the High Street Lifestyle Center, which encompasses approximately 60 acres along Richmond Road in Williamsburg, Va. Woolpert provided its expertise in the areas of boundary and topographic survey, site and civil design, traffic study, analysis and design and environmental permitting coordination. The development, which will enhance and rejuvenate this retail and restaurant district within the city, will include more than 200,000 square feet of retail space and more than 300 residential units. Stemming from this project, Woolpert will continue to coordinate ongoing city-sponsored improvements to further develop the area into a top-rated center for leisure and entertainment.
