Woolpert Welcomes Water Pro Lee Smith as Program Director in Atlanta Office
ATLANTA (March 6, 2020) — Leland (Lee) Smith has joined Woolpert as a program director in the firm’s water market. Smith is licensed as a Professional Engineer in multiple states, and is certified as a Diplomate, Water Resources Engineer, and a Project Management Professional. He will be based in the firm’s Atlanta office.
Over the past two decades, Smith has served in a variety of senior project manager roles with engineering, environmental consulting and civil design firms in Georgia and Florida. He is experienced in leading wastewater treatment and stormwater management project teams, as well as in water resource improvement, management and consulting initiatives.
Smith said he wants to use his new position to help Woolpert build momentum in the Greater Atlanta area and surrounding communities by delivering on strategic design projects.
“Woolpert occupies a great space in the water infrastructure consulting market and provides a broader range of services to a wider universe of clients than I was aware of before joining the company,” Smith said. “Being leaders in data management should serve the company well in the years ahead. In my role, I hope to help the firm expand its delivery of water infrastructure design services in the region.”
Woolpert Senior Vice President and Market Director Flint Holbrook said Smith will support current projects and pursue new contract opportunities in the Atlanta region. He will support the firm’s full-service asset management program, inventory, monitoring and condition assessment capabilities.
