Perched in the Indian Ocean, the lush subtropical island of Mauritius is blessed with magnificent natural beauty and an abundance of attractions. To improve the port facility and expand tourism in the island’s economy, this multi-phase project included urban planning of a new public waterfront promenade and urban core with a passenger ferry and cruise terminal. The promenade design links the Le Salinas historic downtown area, and the passenger terminal, as well as planned private developments and public parks.

The contract will support roadway and bridge improvement projects throughout the state.

HOUSTON (April 18, 2024) — The Texas Department of Transportation has awarded Woolpert a $10 million contract to provide plans, specifications, and estimate (PS&E) services supporting statewide roadway and bridge reconstruction and improvement projects.

The contract will support a range of TxDOT projects, including highway widening to accommodate growing traffic demands, bridge replacement and rehabilitation, and intersection upgrades to enhance safety and traffic flow at critical intersections.

“Woolpert possesses a deep understanding of PS&E delivery requirements and we’re thrilled to join forces with TxDOT in building the future of Texas transportation,” Woolpert Project Manager David Zheng said. “We understand the importance of every road and bridge in this vast state, and our team is dedicated to delivering creative solutions that will have a lasting, positive impact on the lives of all Texans.”

Zheng said the projects will focus on enhancing roadway safety, bolstering economic growth, and reducing traffic congestion across the state’s rural and emerging urban areas, including the greater Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth, and Austin-San Antonio areas.

“Efficient transportation networks are a pillar of Texas’ economic engine,” Zheng said. “This contract will help to ensure the structural integrity of vital infrastructure and support roadway capacity improvements to accommodate Texas’ growing urban areas, traffic demands, and business development needs.”

The contract is underway.

Greenbox, a wholly owned subsidiary of Woolpert, designed NEXTDC’s third data center in Sydney, representing a new breed of data centers in urbanized environments.

Located across the boundary of industrial and residential zoning, and one of the first multi-level data centers in Sydney, this building deftly addresses the absolute height limit where transmissions from the neighboring ABC transmission tower cannot be affected.

Woolpert delivers industry-leading strategic planning and consulting services to owners, developers, and stewards of the built and natural environment. Whether guiding land use, infrastructure, or environmental planning, we provide geospatial project consulting, infrastructure planning solutions, and urban and regional planning support to help clients make informed decisions that shape stronger, more resilient communities.

An increasing reliance on technology in our lives has accelerated the evolution of a new type of energy-efficient and resilient data center. NEXTDC S2 represents this new class of data center. Sitting proudly within an urban environment, rather than camouflaged within an industrial estate, this Uptime Tier IV building gives back to the community by its proximity to customers and our innovative design, providing sustainable energy-efficient storage and cooling solutions for servers.

Greenbox, a wholly owned subsidiary of Woolpert, designed these eight boutique apartments to allow owners to stay in the area, where a lifetime of friends and connections had been made, without the maintenance hassles of a big house and garden. The apartments sit comfortably at the junction of urban and suburban living. The mixed-use development with street-level shops open to the public fosters a sense of excitement and community that was part of the Pymble town center master plan.
